Perfect 1:87 scale reproduction of the locomotive E.646.005 of the FS, as it was during the end of ’70 years (era IV). “Magnolia” green/pearl grey livery with black bogies, frontal FS emblem with shield shape and green background, lower grey stripe with “step” on cabin borders. Assigned to Bologna Centrale depot.
All details comply with the historical setting: modified wide front steps with additional handrails, side air intakes in definitive disposition, long type supports on roof borders, with Discontinuous Signalling Repetition device. Principal air couplers (yellows) on front beams, black snowploughs, modern type buffers and lamp rings. Front gutters and external security tap for pantographs. Pantographs type 52 with curved skid blade.
This model reproduces accurately the locomotive’s appearance after the Special Repair in 1976, due to an impact occurred on the Brennero line with the “Alpen Express” train, after which it came back in service with the new pearl grey colour and some livery particularities. The E.646.005 still brings traces of the previously installed reinforced “Triplex” front windows, as an experiment on this locomotive since 1970, but removed after short time maintaining only one window with rounded corners and external rubber border.
