The E626.089 was one of the last units of its group to be withdrawn from regular service, and one of the few that maintained the cabins’ side windows in original state, having received only the new metallic cabin doors. After the withdrawal by the FS, this machine was bought by the Ferrovia Casalecchio-Vignola together with other two E626 ex FS (128 and 193) to perform freight services on the social line, afterwards it passed under the control of ACT Bologna, then in 2006 it was sold to the Associazione Toscana Treni Storici (ATTS) “Italvapore”; it is currently preserved in the National Transport Museum in La Spezia, in charge of the Fondazione FS.
